Boy Wonder
Hiraeth—”A homesickness for a home to which you cannot return,
a home which maybe never was; the nostalgia, the yearning, the grief
for the lost spaces of your past.“
Growing up as a military child, goodbyes became all too familiar. Moving across the country every few years became the “norm,” I naturally learned how to cope by forming new friendships wherever I went. Every destination played a role in shaping who I am today and might explain my natural ability to connect with others.

My love for modelling began on a random weekday when I decided to go out with a close friend and my camera. We went to the nearest forest near my house and took quick shots of me showing off my new heart-of-bone rings. A few weeks later, I was featured on their website next to Billie Eilish and published in my first magazine. Little did I know at the time, this would mark the beginning of an incredible career. I was on the verge of signing with an agency when COVID hit, which left me to continue as a freelance model.

My career truly changed for the better when I heard about Fashion Art Toronto. Nervously, I submitted my application and was selected to walk for two designers. After booking a hotel and driving five hours to Toronto, I was immediately starstruck and knew this was where I belong. Coming from a small town, accepting my sexuality had been incredibly difficult—until I found Toronto’s fashion community and realized how accepting it is.

After high school, I took a gap year because I truly had no idea what I wanted to do. I had so many dreams and aspirations but no clear way of achieving them until I discovered Seneca’s Fashion Arts Program. I knew Toronto was where I belonged, and studying fashion was my ticket in. Fast forward to now: I’ve walked in over 15 runway shows, been featured in three magazines, and connected with so many incredible creatives.

Growing up, I always loved creating things, and designing turned out to be the missing puzzle piece all along. While I’ll always have a shared love for modelling and designing, I’m so excited to show the world what I’m capable of when it comes to design. Currently, I’m working on my second-semester dress project. In third year, we put on a final grad collection, and I’m eagerly awaiting my turn to bring my visions to life and show people who I am.

My biggest dream is to showcase my designs on runways around the world, including NYFW.
Fashion has always been my home away
from home and my way of expressing myself.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way and reminded me what I’m capable of—this isn’t the last time you’ll hear my name.
