Becoming a mother changed my life in ways that are
both profound and impossible to fully put into words.

Before motherhood, my world revolved mostly around myself and my business— i was on my own schedule, striving to reach my goals, prioritizing my needs, and my sense of who I was.  I had a clear vision of what I wanted from life, and I moved through the world with a sense of autonomy that felt natural and, honestly, effortless.

But the moment I became a mother, everything shifted.

It wasn’t just that I now had a tiny human depending on me—it was the complete reorientation of my priorities, my time, and even my sense of identity.

I discovered a depth of love I didn’t know existed, a fierce, protective, boundless love that cracked me open and rewired my heart.

The early days were exhausting and beautiful in equal measure—nights blurred into days, and sleep became a luxury, but in the quiet moments of feeding, rocking, or simply watching my child sleep, I experienced a level of connection and purpose that was unlike anything I had known.

Motherhood taught me patience in a way nothing else could have.  It challenged my assumptions about control and perfection, showing me that being present was more powerful than being prepared. I became more resilient because I had to be, learning to function through exhaustion, to stay calm through tantrums, and to keep going even on the days I felt I had nothing left to give. My perspective on the world also changed. Suddenly, every news story felt personal.

I began to see the world not just through my own lens, but through the future I wanted for my child. Issues like education, kindness, the environment, and equality carried more weight, and I found myself caring more deeply about the kind of person I was modelling.

Motherhood also brought a surprising clarity to my life. Things I once thought were important—certain social expectations, work pressures, the need to constantly prove myself—faded into the background. What mattered most became beautifully simple: love, safety, growth, and presence. I also discovered strengths I never knew I had.

Balancing being a mother with being an individual
—someone with passions, friendships, and dreams
—became part of the journey, too.

Over time, I realized that becoming a mother didn’t erase who I was before; it expanded me. It deepened every part of me—my emotions, my instincts, my priorities, and my capacity to love. It is the hardest, most beautiful thing I’ve ever done, and I carry its lessons with me in everything I do. Motherhood didn’t just change my life—it transformed it, reshaping me into someone stronger, softer, and more human than I ever knew I could be.
